The original Tibet Society newsletter (1967-68) became the Tibet Society bulletin, which contained both scholarly articles and organizational news; in 1980 the bulletin was discontinued and succeeded by a different publication, the Journal of the Tibet Society, intended to be a refereed publication containing scholarly articles. The Tibet Society newsletter, new series, was revived in 1972 to cover organizational news, information about events, and the like.
